I then came back with acetone, wiping all surfaces to remove contaminates. Next, I painted on a film of "neat" epoxy (West System), and allowed this to tack up. Once tacky, I applied a fillet with a mixture of 404 high-density filler and 407 low-density filler. Final step was to cut a 4" wide strip of 6oz cloth to form new tabbing. I will be coming back to clean amine blush, lightly sand, and then apply a wider piece of 6oz cloth to finish the tabbing. This already looks so much better, and will present itself "cleaner" when fresh paint is applied. I also added tabbing to the bulkhead at the fore of the settee - not shown. This picture is looking aft at the starboard settee.

Starboard Cladding and Settee Tabbing
In addition to topsides fairing work during the weekend of the 12th and 13th of September, I also addressed the starboard settee. I removed and labeled all ash cladding from the hull interior. I then removed the vertical furring strips and their fiberglass tabbing. In addition to removing the tabbing for the furring strips, I also removed the tabbing connecting hull to settee seat. The reason I removed this was that the previous owner really didn't do that nice of a job on the tabbing work. It really looked like it was just "thrown" together. So, I removed it with a 4" grinder - yes, careful not to go too deep, and only to remove the old tabbing. I then used my Porter Cable 5" to clean up the hull sides as well as the settee seat - removing old paint.
