Over the weekend, I also took the opportunity to fair out a recent fiberglass lay-up around the lower portion of the engine well. There were a few notches that had been cut into the original well that I am filling. In these photos, I show the fiberglass work that has been applied, sanded and prepped. Last photo is showing a fairing application of 406 and 407 (collodial silica and microballoons fairing materials - West System). The notch shown here on the astern portion of the engine well will also be filled in.

Topsides & Engine Well
I finished the evening of the 27th with application of West System epoxy thickened with 410 microlight fairing compound (beige product seen below). The darker, purple material seen below the microlight and in various spots along the topsides is West System epoxy thickened with 407 microballoons and 406 collodial silica. ....explanation: Froonie's topsides (gelcoat) is badly crazed and cracked, and in places these cracks were resulting in pieces of the gelcoat chipping off completely. I chased these chipping cracks with a utility knife and "dug out" the loose material. After I was satisfied that I had removed any loose material, I came back with a good solvent wipe down and applied the 407 and 406 recipe to fill these voids. This initial fill was completed a couple weeks prior, and what is shown here is a final fairing after the initial sanding - the beige material is the final fairing application, 410 microlight.
